After an adventure packed day on Lake Crescent, all that the Sol Duc Valley has to offer gave us the perfect opportunity to slow down and relax.

Sol Duc Campground, Loop B
There are 17 walk-in sites total at this campground, 4 in Loop A and 13 in Loop B, which fill up fast during summer weekends. These are typically tent only sites and cost $25 per night. The rest of the sites can be reserved in advance. Amenities include: flushable toilets, sinks, running water, fire pits, and picnic tables.
Tips:
- We strongly recommend that you leave some camping equipment (ex: fold up chairs) on walk-in sites at all times to secure your spot.
- Reserved sites should be booked at least 2+ months out.
Sol Duc Falls
At the end of the Sol Duc Hot Springs Road are several trailheads. The most popular is the trail to Sol Duc Falls. This is a leisurely 1.6 mile roundtrip hike through an old growth forest, packed with stream crossings, and ending in a wooden bridge overlooking the powerful Sol Duc Falls.
Tips:
- This trail is HIGHLY trafficked. Hitting this trail in the early morning would be well worth it.
- Got more time? Try the Lover’s Lane Trail. A flat, 6.1 mile loop, with Sol Duc Falls and other waterfall included.
Sol Duc Hot Springs
Admission is $15 per person during the day and $11 per person during twilight hours (7 – 9pm). Purchasing admittance gives you a wristband that will allow you to leave and re-enter the facility until closing. We found that the hot springs were a nice way to relax after a day of hiking and traveling. The water was quite warm and the pools decently crowded, but not to the point that we were unable to find a spot to relax.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I promise you are not missing out. It was no hot springs oasis, just a bunch of regular people in man made pools. If you’re looking for something ‘Instagramable’, this is not your place.
Tips:
- Added Bonus: Admission includes unlimited hot showers (Aka the best news we’d heard all day)
- Lockers and towels are also provided, but supplies are limited.
- Each pool is regularly closed for an hour at a time throughout the day for bacterial testing. Be sure to make note of the pool closing schedule when you arrive and avoid the mass migration between pools that ensues.
